Process
To start this project, I sketched out several ideas for the logo. I experimented with different typefaces and logomarks. When creating ideas for the logomark, I took into consideration the shop's beach side location. I wanted to create a logo that encapsulated a brand that is a fun, bold, and beachy frozen yogurt shop. I experimented with different ways to incorporate the frozen yogurt shape into the wordmark. I included a beach umbrella in a few of my iterations, as well as the final logo, to represent the proximity the yogurt shop has to the beach. I initially worked with a muted, pastel color palette and tried several different color combinations before I found the final harmonious pink and blue to use as the brand colors.
Visual Inspiration
My inspiration for the branding came from bold and colorful brand designs. I was inspired by bright color palettes with funky typefaces that would stand out among many brands. I looked into different ice cream brands with packaging designs that are very illustrative. I was inspired by these designs to add a few accents of illustration to this project.
